Turner Contemporary puts Margate on the cultural map

Journeys with 'The Waste Land' explores the significance of T.S. Elliot's poem The Waste Land through the visual arts. 3 February - 7 May 2018.

NOW: Yin Xiuzhen and Duan Jianyu is part of a dialogue on female Chinese contemporary artists. Yin Xiuzhen is known for her large sculptural works exploring globalisation, memory and urbanisation in contemporary China. Duan Jianyu draws on Eastern and Western art to explore tensions between rural and urban China, and tradition and modernisation. 21 February - 2 September 2018. 

Dutch/ Light (for Agneta Block) marks the 350th anniversary of the Dutch Raid on the River Madway, which brought about the end of the Anglo-Dutch Wars. Jyll Bradley draws on the leaning glass frames of early glasshouse technology, which led to a horticultural revolution that crossed the North Sea. 12 August 2017 - 31 May 2018.  

ANOTHER TIME for Margate / Folkestone. The sculpture ANOTHER TIME XXI by Antony Gormley is installed on Fulsam Rock beside Turner Contemporary and becomes visible about 3 hours before low tide. The piece is from a series of 100 solid cast-iron figures.19 August 2017 - 30 November 2018.
