Machines for living. Flamenco and architecture in the occupation and clearance of space

Machines for Living. Flamenco and architecture in the occupation and clearance of space, is staged at CentroCentro Cibeles, Madrid until 4 February 2018. Featuring a wide range of media, including music, actions, painting, photography, film, architectural models, books, and documents, the exhibition opens a three-way dialogue between radical architecture, social criticism and flamenco representations.

The ongoing project focuses on both the history and culture of flamenco while applying a multi-disciplinary approach. Its critical research brings to light a political history of flamenco rooted in wider historical processes of resistance.
