La Conquista (The Conquest) by José Tola (b. 1943) forms part of the Peruvian artist's solo exhibition at Galería Lucía de la Puente, Lima (24 April - 24 May 2014).

Tola's fantastical works are awash with colour and exuberance. His visual language includes four fingered beings with elongated limbs, toothy smiles and awkward eyes.
