From Water to Light by Willie Cole (b. New Jersey, USA, 1955) is on display at the 1st International Biennial of Contemporary Art of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia (7 Feb - 7 April 2014).

Cole is renowned for transforming ordinary household and used objects into imaginative artworks. From Water to Light comprises 10,000 recycled P.E.T. water bottles and is concerned with the forces of water, light and air. Critical of rampant consumerism, the work invites the viewer to reflect on the scarcity of water.
