ART OF THE WEEK
Ataskoa (Traffic Jam) (2005) is a project by Spanish artist Maider López (b. San Sebastian, 1972). Part of the series is on view at the 13th Istanbul Biennial. 14 September - 20 October 2013.
"A festive public appeal resulted in a traffic jam at a location where there normally wouldn’t be one – on a mountainside. A decontextualised daily life situation that leads to a new interpretation and reflection on the use of cars." - Maider López
