Art Basel Miami Beach 2013

Art Basel in Miami Beach presents exciting modern and contemporary works by more than 4,000 artists. The fair brings together over 250 leading international galleries under the roof of the Miami Beach Convention Center and runs from 5-8 December. Public artworks are shown at Collins Park and Film is presented at the MBCC and SoundScape Park.

Galleries, the busiest sector, comprises over 200 gallery booths displaying a wide range of media including painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video and digital art. Nova provides galleries the opportunity to showcase two or three artists’ recent works; often never-before-seen pieces. Positions is a platform for new talent and enables galleries to present the work of a single artist whilst Editions features editioned works, prints and multiples. Kabinett displays curated shows and Magazines is a sector for art publications. Many magazine editors contribute to the Salon series, a schedule of presentations, lectures and discussions by a range of speakers.

Participants in this year’s fair include galleries from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Monaco, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and Uruguay.
